We have one of the largest Global Service and Sales organizations among precision instrument companies. We are seeking a Segment Market Manager in Columbus, OH.|
This person is responsible to drive demand for Industrial products based on industry segment and product lines as identified and assigned by the Industrial Marketing Manager.
• Develop and maintain an annual growth plan to efficiently promote and market industrial products in North America
o Through an industry segment-based focus, maximize revenue potential by ensuring product line functionality, pricing and overall value to address customer buying drivers typical within segment.
o Interface with the SBU and POs to help define the global product line roadmap and associated tools and third party applications. Refine and implement in the local markets.
o Understand and represent the customer needs for the industrial market in new product definition.
o Analyze trends in markets, regulations, and quality assurance programs to identify new product features and priortize customer needs.
o Utilize CRM database to monitor sales pipeline development by product line.
o Report on product line growth and the underlining activities to support their growth.
o Be the face of the product line(s) to our field organizations
• Utilize marketing capabilities within Mettler Toledo to help attain the growth plan described above. Work in coordination with SBM marketing leaders, PO Product Managers, Inside Sales, Telemarketing and the marketing communication team to craft marketing campaigns that lead to high quality sales leads.
o Leverage the global SBU marketing campaigns to maximize the volume of marketing activities in North America. Work with SBU Marketing and Geo Marketing to tailor global marketing campaigns for optimal results in North America.
o Ensure campaign deliverables and elements from SBU are provided within time lines outlined in the yearly Market Planner document.
o Coordinate with Telemarketing and Inside Sales to ensure campaign success by measuring results and adjusting as needed.
o Where appropriate, develop additional marketing campaigns to help meet product growth targets.
o In addition to the integrated campaigns listed above, develop and coordinate promotional activities as outlined in the Market Planner, including trade shows, seminars, print or electronic advertising, press releases, search terms and direct mail.
o Develop and maintain effective sales tools, including brochures, sales presentations, alternative value comparisons and web-based promotional material. Sales tools designed to highlight competitive advantages and monetize the value of the solution to assist customer’s justification of purchase decision.
o Monitor performance to budget and make adjustments as required.
• Develop launch plans for all new products and execute in a timely fashion.
• Product line management including:
o Use pricing as a lever to maximize profit margins.
|Qualifications:||EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE |
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Marketing, or direct equivalent work experience; MS or MBA preferred. One or more years of directly related marketing experience. Previous experience in product development or product marketing within a technical, industrial or capital equipment field; experience in specific areas of weighing or measurement, data collection / communications or process control would be additional benefit. SAP knowledge/experience preferred.
